When Life Gets Bored

Hey, I didn’t get a post in yesterday because I had 3 operating systems to reinstall and I didn’t succeed in time. I’ll post something later today on how I failed twice, it’ll be good for the rest of you in case you need to do the same thing anytime in the future.

The story I’m posting is very short and I wrote it on actual paper with an actual pen (Uni-ball ONYX fine) while I was waiting for OS installs to finish. Click the link below to read the story.

Their eyes met across the bar one night last year, and their eyes must have hit it off quite well because the rest of their bodies met later that same night in a building not far from the bar, and not all that different comparatively, as all the cupboards were filled with alcohol, but two things were very different. One, that they were alone, and two, that there was a bed, and they were using it.

The bed must have enjoyed the action because they were at it again the next night, and the the next night, and the next 363 nights after that. In fact, the two of them were married and very happy indeed for the year up ’till now. Unfortunately Life has the power to mess with whatever it pleases, and it does so frequently. So one time when Life got bored it said, “Those two are exceedingly happy, it’s joyous to watch them together, but it would bring me more joy to split them up and watch what happens.” Life did exactly that, it brought a new job into the picture for Mr, and a new personal trainer at the gym for Mrs.

Neither stood a chance. They slowly lost that spark in their eyes that brought them together, and the personal trainer’s bed started getting all the action. A divorce followed a short while after Mr found out, and Mrs got all the money. Mr got a second job and spent his free time at a very different bar than the first, effectively destroying his usefulness at either jobs.

Things were now boring for Life again, so it stuck it’s hands in once more  so that Mr’s eyes caught those of another woman sitting at the bar. Instead of the previous reaction to an attractive smiling face, Life witnessed a new one. Mr looked at his glass, then back at the smiling woman, walked out of the bar and drove his car into the river. Just 10 minutes later, the woman and personal trainer standing behind the smiling woman went home and pleased the bed.
